7G Dominates at Hardwood Palace for Tournament Win
7th Grade Fusion had a dominating performance this weekend to win the March Madness Series at Hardwood Palace. 7Gs trademark the season is defense where the girls are holding opponents to less than 30 points per game. Fusion is 5-2 so far on this young season with a very bright outlook ahead.
The squad beat the Wolf Pack, NEA Lions, and the Chico Blue Devels to win the tourney. The smallest margin of victory was 8 with double digit wins for the other two games. The girls had 60 steals this weekend while taking care of the ball when on offense. The team is very well balanced with every player making an impact. Some highlights include Kira Sadler who scored 33 points for the weekend. Newcomer Grace Marshall had 22 steals. Avery Seale and Sarah Doyle grabbed several rebounds. Every girl made an impact as the Fusion bench wore down its opponents.
Head Coach Emily Anderson has the girls playing a tough man-to-man full court defense that is proving to be very effective. Fusion pushes the ball in transition. This style of play would not work if Fusion had a small roster. This tournament marks the first career tournament win for Coach Emily.
Great Job Girls!
